Well, its finally here. I was expecting a big and bulky machine and thats what i’ve got. I thought the saturn was a big square lump but it is quite small and petite compared to this
Looking at the design, they look quite similar … not sure who’s copied who but it’s a “hmm” moment when you see them side by side.
At the moment its hooked up via s-video cables as I do not have a scart cable for it, but even without that it still looks good.
It came with 5 games, King of Fighters 96, Art of Fighting 2, Fatal Fury 3, Samurai Spritis and Viewpoint, alas it only has one control pad but i’ll survive. It plays the *cough* games *cough* I sourced for it without any modification so that will save me a packet.
The only downside is the loading times as the drive is a single speed cdrom (300k a second). SNK fixed this deficiency by bringing out the Neo Geo CDZ which is twin speed, but that does not help me
I’ll live with it for now.
The audio outputs on the back are giving me a bit of feedback / crap … I think they might be on their way out. Something the auction owner neglected to tell me about. Still, i’ll live. Once I get a scart cable for it, i’ll be sorted anyway.
