Moon
I decided as it is a reasonably clear night and the moon is particularily bright tonight (the night after it was full) i’d try and take some pictures of the moon using my Fuji Finepix S5600.
I had … mixed results.
At first I didn’t know what I was doing and setting the camera modes any which way .. it produced some interesting results .. such as these two:
Both look like they were taken in daylight .. but were actually taken at about 11:05pm… weird.
Unfortunately, it seems I dont have the zoom (or focal length I think the camera term is … some camera nerd will correct me i’m sure) to take a good picture with my current camera (10x optical zoom is just not enough it seems) so I had to turn on Digital Zoom as well
*spits*
Anyway, the results were immediately apparent:
Much better … until you look at the full size picture, then you see the wonderful jpg artifacts and other such things…
I did manage to take a half way picture, so only 2x digital zoom:
I tried taking some at different ISO speeds, to see if that made much of a difference (ISO speed is how quickly it opens and closes the shutter I think), the results look the same at ISO 100 and ISO 64 (well they do to me anyway) here they are side by side …

ISO 100 (left) and ISO 64 (right)
All in all, quite impressed with the results for a £199 camera. One day i’ll learn how to use it properly as well
